Course description

Minds in Motion: Cultivating Creativity and Cultural Understanding is a practical and interactive training course designed for teachers, trainers, and education professionals who want to foster creativity while strengthening intercultural competence in their educational practice.

The course explores how creative thinking and intercultural awareness can be developed together through non-formal education methods. Participants experience activities that stimulate imagination, flexibility, collaboration, and cultural curiosity, while learning how to manage diversity and turn cultural differences into learning opportunities.

The training is experiential and learner-centred, combining creativity, reflection, and intercultural dialogue. All activities are designed to be transferable to schools, adult education, VET, and training organisations.

Day 1 – Creativity and Intercultural Learning: Key Concepts

Module content:

  • Creativity in education: definitions, myths, and pedagogical value
  • Intercultural competence and cultural awareness in learning environments
  • Exploring identity, values, and cultural perspectives
  • Group cohesion and trust-building in intercultural groups

Day 2 – Creative Thinking and Expression

Module content:

  • Divergent thinking and creativity techniques
  • Using arts-based and non-formal methods to stimulate imagination
  • Creativity through storytelling, movement, and visual expression
  • Adapting creative activities to different learner profiles

Day 3 – Intercultural Communication and Collaboration

Module content:

  • Intercultural communication styles and cultural dimensions
  • Managing misunderstandings and cultural bias
  • Cooperation and teamwork in multicultural settings
  • Non-formal tools to support intercultural dialogue

Day 4 – Creativity as a Tool for Inclusion

Module content:

  • Creativity and inclusion in diverse learning environments
  • Using creative methods to give voice to all learners
  • Designing inclusive activities that value cultural diversity
  • Creativity for problem-solving and conflict prevention

Day 5 – Transfer to Practice, Reflection & Action Planning

  • Designing creative and intercultural learning scenarios
  • Reflection on learning outcomes and professional growth
  • Action planning, dissemination, and certification

Methodology

The course is based on non-formal and experiential learning. Participants actively engage in creative workshops, intercultural activities, group work, reflection sessions, and collaborative design tasks. Each session follows a learning cycle of experience, reflection, analysis, and transfer to practice, ensuring applicability in real educational contexts.


Target group

Teachers (all levels), trainers, adult educators, VET professionals, school leaders, and education staff interested in creativity, intercultural learning, and inclusive education.


Certification

Participants receive a Certificate of Attendance and Europass Mobility, in accordance with Erasmus+ requirements.
